Attention EHS Junior Class:
The EHS PTA, working with Jump Start Tutoring (JST), is pleased to announce their second-year partnering. This is a unique opportunity to assist EHS juniors in preparing for their SAT and ACT Exams at a reduced cost for families.
JST will offer a full-length SAT on Saturday, September 17th at 9am at Eastchester High School. Similarly, Jump Start will offer a full-length ACT (No Essay) on Saturday, September 24th at 9am. Tests will finish around 12:30pm. Students with extended time 1.5 will be accommodated. If anything more than 1.5 is needed, please contact JST directly.
Testing will take place at EHS on 9/17 and 9/24, with the exact location being shared the week of 9/12. **For both days, students must arrive promptly by 8:45am so the test can begin at 9am sharp. Students must arrive with a calculator (graphing calculator preferred) and 2-3 pencils. Because this testing session is set up just like the actual exam, students displaying inappropriate or disrespectful behavior will be asked to leave.**
The fee to register for the program is $60, which includes the SAT/ACT exams and consultation meeting with JST. JST will contact all participating families within one week following the second exam to set up 30-minute consultations, to determine which standardized test would be best for the student to prepare for. Students are required to show up with at least one of their parent/guardian(s) to this meeting. Participating students will then be grouped in pairs, based on test choice and ability level, for a special, reduced cost of $90 per student per hour.
EHS students will receive their first 2 hours of tutoring with JST free, compliments of the EHS PTA and JST. Each student’s family must be PTA members to participate in this unique opportunity. Please make sure that PTA membership is completed by 10/1/22.
To register: Please submit a $60 check made out to Jump Start Tutoring, along with the completed Google Form attached below. Checks can be dropped off at the EHS Main office/PTA mailbox no later than Wednesday, September 14th. No walk-ins will be permitted, as test booklets and materials need to be prepared in advance.
The physical copy of the exam will not be released. A master copy of the exam will be given to the EHS PTA office so that students can look at the questions if they so choose, but they will not be given their exact test copy and bubble sheet.
