Our nominating process for 2024-25 school year is beginning this week. If you’re interested in joining our board, please read the information below and watch for an email that will include the nomination form. For security, we will send the nomination form out to the PTA mailing list.
To ensure continuity of PTA activities, advocacy and programming for our students, it is necessary to seek nominations for the EHS PTA Executive Board for the upcoming school year. Some members of the board will remain in their positions for the second year of their term and others will seek to change positions. The following elected positions are open for 2024-2025:
- Vice-President of Programming
- Vice-President of Membership
- Corresponding Secretary
We are also seeking volunteers for the following appointed positions. The following positions are open for 2024-25.
- Assistant Treasurer (1)
- Fashion Show Chairpersons (2-3)
The workload and time commitment for EHS PTA is significantly less than in elementary schools. At the HS level, many things are student-run and student-led with the support of club advisors. Here are some of the things that the Executive Board is responsible for:
- We host 5-6 meetings per year, on topics that are of interest to the EHS community.
- We issue grants to teachers and advisors, who wish to bring in something new or different to their curriculum or club.
- We organize staff appreciation events during the school year.
- We share community information with our membership and collaborate with other PTAs and PTA Council.
- We supply the EHS Guidance department with names of families who have been members for all four years at EHS, to select candidates for eligibility for PTA scholarships.
- We deliver programming to students at EHS, as appropriate. This could be in the form of student assemblies or special events such as Giving Retriever Canine Therapy, reduced-cost tutoring partnerships at local centers, etc. These vary from year to year.
All of these things are accomplished as a result of the success of our single fundraiser, the EHS Fashion Show held in November.
We hope that you will consider seeking nomination for one of the open positions on the Executive Board.
The nomination form will be sent out via email on/around March 13, 2024. It should be completed and submitted no later than April 15, 2024. Please reach out if you do not receive a confirmation that your nomination form has been received.

The EHS PTA will hold its final PTA Meeting on Wednesday, May 22nd to consider the nominations and elect an executive board for the 2024-2025 school year. We look forward to filling vacant seats so that we can continue to support our school community!
